Prepare

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

• You MUST be off Accutane for at least one year: NO EXCEPTIONS.

• Do NOT book your appointment before any major events (vacation, social events, weddings, etc)

• Come to the appointment with the look you would like to achieve (optional).

• No botox prior to appointment for at least four weeks.

• Stop taking Retin-A or Retinol…must avoid using for thirty days before and after the procedure as well. Note: This can cause the pigments to fade prematurely even after waiting for the thirty-day time frame.

THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT…

• All antibiotics must be finished.

• No chemical peels, glycolic acid products or any other similar products.
TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT

• Stop using growth serums like Latisse on eyebrows. This can not be started until two weeks after the procedure as well.

• Stop sunbathing, using tanning beds and/or spray tans. Tanning will exfoliate and thus take color with it as it fades. Individuals with a tan or burn on the day of the appointment will be asked to reschedule.

• No eyebrow tinting or waxing.

ONE WEEK PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT

• Stop taking fish oil and/or omega supplements, vitamin E, C K or multivitamins, ginkgo Biloba, ginger and ginseng.

48-72 HOURS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT

• Stop taking aspirin, niacin, ibuprofen or other blood thinner medication.

24 HOURS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT

• No alcohol

• Drink a lot of water.

DAY OF APPOINTMENT

• Do NOT drink coffee or any caffeinated beverage.

• Do NOT work out or sweat. Body heat expands the pores. Do NOT apply moisturizer to forehead if having eyebrows done.

• On the day of the operation come in comfortable clothes and I recommend wearing dark clothing. Please avoid wearing white or light clothing.

Postcare

STEPS

1. Wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before touching the treated area.

2. Wash the treated area with a sanitized, damp cloth using only distilled or filtered water, every 1 hour for 24 hours (except when sleeping) as soon as you leave my office. After washing apply a thin coat of the ointment you are given with a Q-tip. This will prevent scabbing.

3. After 24 hours wash the treated area with a sanitized, damp cloth using only distilled or filtered water only twice a day and apply a very thin layer of ointment after each wash. The eyebrow needs to breathe. Repeat this process for 13 days. Again this will help with scabbing.

4. Avoid direct shower water on the treated area after the procedure. Don’t get your eyebrows wet for 14 days.

5. Absolutely nothing on the brows. No makeup, lotions, pencil…etc for 14 days. If you experience any scabbing, crushing or flaking after 14 days please DO NOT PICK, let it exfoliate naturally. DO not scrub them. This will prevent any unnecessary infections. This all applies to all touchups appts as well.

6. Some tenderness puffiness (even bruising), redness, and itching are quite normal for the permanent makeup healing process. DO NOT PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH the treating area as his could result in your color healing uneven, as well as the risk of scarring and infection.

7. Absolutely NO pet grooming, gardening, dusting, or anything that causes dust, dirt, and dander for a minimum of 72 hours. Waiting 5 full days is the best. NO EXERCISING FOR 10 DAYS…No EXCEPTIONS. DO NOT DO ANY ACTIVITY THAT CAUSES SWEAT IN THE AREA OF THE PROCEDURE OR YOUR FACE TO HEAT UP AND TURN RED. ABSOLUTELY NO LAKE ACTIVITIES OR CAMPING.

8. ABSOLUTELY DON’T GET YOUR EYEBROWS WET FOR 14 DAYS. If you do not wait the required 14 days you will ruin the results and any other future procedures on the area.

9. Do not tan for 30 days.

10. Try not to sleep on your face and change your pillow regularly.

11. No chemical peels, glycolic acid products, any bleaching products, Retinol/Retinol (anti-aging cream) must be avoided on the entire forehead for one month after the procedure.

12. Absolutely NO topical makeup on the healing procedure(s) for a minimum of 12-14 days. NO FACIAL FOR TWO FULL WEEKS.

13. If you experience any problems or issues with the procedure please contact me immediately at (708) 268-4642.

14. Lastly…relax. Don’t worry about a thing. It’s just permanent makeup that will lighten, soften and heal in a matter of days. Follow these instructions and this will ensure you heal properly.

NOTE! SMOKING WILL AFFECT YOUR RESULTS AND MAY CAUSE THE PIGMENT TO FADE PREMATURELY! After your eyebrow procedure, you will be swollen. Some clients will swell minimally and some will swell more. Everyone heals differently. This can cause the area(s) to appear uneven, red, itchy and irritated when healing. The area(s) will also appear much darker and thicker than the final result. You can expect eyebrows to fade/shrink anywhere from 10-50%. This typically happens within 3-30 days of the first procedure. Shedding, peeling or scabbing is common after the treatment as the area heals. DO NOT pick the scabs.

Some areas of the eyebrows will fade more than others and as the pigment oxidizes it will start to darken up again over a 2-3 week period. After the touch-up, the pigment will hold better as the body is now more used to the pigment in the skin. ALL permanent makeup procedures will require 2 or more procedures and maintenance touch-ups. This is normal and expected. Your individual skin type & lifestyle will play a major role in the final result.

If you currently have or previously had permanent makeup, laser tattoo removal, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, skin condition, or scar(s) in the brow area, please know that the area(s) may require more than one treatment. require more work and touchups or there’s a chance this pigment WILL NOT take at all.

Darker skin types, olive skin, African American, Indian, philippine, people with severely oily skin, sun damage or similar, please note that the hair strokes WILL blend more and may look more powdered. They may not appear as defined as on lighter skin types. Redheads, blondes & fair skin types, will experience more fading & swelling.
